This particular job stemmed from the bad decision-making on a landlord’s part… I was called in to address the aftermath. The door hardware installed on this doorway’s slab was an exterior doorknob, which required a key to open (of which was never supplied). When her 3 year old switched over the lock before leaving the room, no one was able to open the door and thus, the jamb had to be destroyed to regain entry. This problem happened to be a popular motif throughout her entire rental, so after correcting the jamb I switched 5 door knobs, completely for free. The request made here was to remedy the jamb without the need to buy a entirely new spilt-jamb door, which saved the tenant money and the landlord a headache. The last picture clearly shows previous damage that was there prior to the fix supplied by One Friendly Guy LLC.
